THEPROJECT
We were asked to create display units for markets as shops for a growing gin brand. The brief was to use recycled materials and to create the feeling of a travelling medicine man. We designed 2 different units.
THEMATERIALS
An old suitcase with a fold out stand and slots to hold gin bottles. Made using recycled pine wood and copper pipes.
The second display stand was built from pine floorboards as well as pine plywood. It was made to be dismantled by hand with no tools and flat packed so it was easy to ship.
THEPROCESS
Building a wooden structural frame inside the suitcase allowed us to have a strong, simple and beautiful design that can be easily assembled by anyone in a matter of minutes.
THEFINISH
Using a mix of copper pipes, leather and upcycled pine wood allowed the display cases to have the feeling of “a snake oil salesman”. This old time image fits perfectly into the branding of the company and has served as centrepieces of their display tables.
